‘Rise of Tomb Raider’ to be an Xbox EXCLUSIVE Release
When we conjure up the name Tomb Raider, we reminisce of the hot gun-slinging Angelina Jolie, and in that reminiscent dust of time, we ask ourselves, where has Tomb Raider gone? Does it still occupy some space in present time?On running a few queries on google, we realize the majesty of Tomb Raider has shifted to gaming consoles.
Unlike the Angelina Jolie starred Tomb Raider’s success, the game version of Tomb Raider has had some hiccups along the way, and not until the reboot of the entire game series last year has the Tomb Raider franchise started to taste success.
Owing to the success of Tomb Raider 2013 game, Microsoft was able to secure a deal with Square Enix, the publisher of current Tomb Raider games, for exclusive Tomb Raider games for Xbox. The move caused ripples in the gaming community as Playstation and PC fans shuddered at the thought of not having the next Tomb Raider game.
For the saddened souls out there, find solace in what we disclose to you; the deal of exclusivity between Microsoft and Square Enix is a limited-time deal, and it is highly likely that Playstation and PC fans might get their hands on the next Tomb Raider game, which is ‘Rise of Tomb Raider.’
Recent revelations about Rise of Tomb Raider, which is due in summer of 2015, have projected that the deal of exclusivity between Microsoft and Square Enix is not for a life time, and before long PC and Playstation owners will get to play the next Tomb Raider games.
Please take note that it is not confirmed whether Rise of Tomb Raider will come on PC and Playstation, but what we can confirm is that the deal is for a limited time.
However, for the lucky Xbox fans, here is the official statement made by Microsoft about Rise of Tomb Raider:
“In the next chapter of her journey, Lara must use her survival skills and wits, learn to trust new friends, and ultimately accept her destiny as the Tomb Raider. Featuring epic, high-octane action moments, Rise of Tomb Raider will take gamers to multiple locations around the world filled with exploration spaces that are some of the most beautifully hostile places on earth.
In addition, after hearing the cry from fans loud and clear, the game will put the tombs back into “Tomb Raider” all in the franchise’s gritty Survival-Action style.”
