Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 Brings HUGE Improvements: Cortana Travels Abroad and More

The release of the Windows Phone 8.1 Update is near. Microsoft prepared some great new apps and system improvements for the users of Windows Phone 8. People from Microsoft say stat the Windows Phone 8.1 will be “the world’s most personal smartphone” and we will present you some of the most notable features and improvements of this update.

Windows Phone 8.1 OS has been much discussed topic lately. One of the most anticipated features of the Windows Phone 8.1, Cortana caught much attention of users worldwide. Microsoft’s version of Siri successfully predicted 15 out of 16 matches of the recent FIFA World Cup matches. Microsoft has also adjusted Cortana to the huge Chinese Market. Cortana will understand Chinese, and a number of additional features specifically for China have been added. Along with Cortana, Windows Phone 8.1 will also bring an improved Lock Screen Manager.

Microsoft is currently finishing its Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1, and the Redmond-based company recently showed various improvements and enchantments to the system. Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 is expected to employ improvements for both original equipment manufacturers (OEM) and general users alike. Another important feature that the update brings to us is an ability to organize folders on the Start Screen. This feature is called Live Tiles, because the live tiles of apps appear in the tile of the folders. You’ll be able to change the name and size of the tile, as well.

You’ll be also able to manage the messages much easier, because the ability to select multiple SMS messages for deletion and forwarding will be also added. Also, The Xbox Music app has been updated in order to improve some missing features from Windows Phone 8. The App Corner has also been added. With this feature you’ll be able to specify which apps will be shown “sandboxed” mode (like a protected Start screen) that restricts which apps are used.

If you already applied for  the Windows Phone 8.1 Preview for Developers then this update should be rolling out next week. The update will be available to all Windows Phone 8.1 users in couple of months.
