LG Nexus 5X – High-End Smartphone with an Affordable Pricetag
Today we’re going to take a look back into Google’s past and check out one of its most popular smartphones ever made, Nexus 5X. The Android parent has made it a tradition to team up with different tech companies and create high-end smartphones together. Well, this is the case with Nexus 5X as well because LG is the company that manufactured it.
In case you’re wondering why a rather affordable and mid-ranged smartphone such as Nexus 5X managed to get to this level of popularity then you should know that Google’s constant operating system updates made Nexus 5X’s user experience improve with every month. However, LG’s top hardware parts also played an important role. Nonetheless, let’s take a look at what Nexus 5X has to offer when it comes to hardware and see how well it stood the test of time.
Nexus 5X was launched back in October of 2015 and it’s 5.2-inch display is definitely one of its key selling points. The display uses IPS LCD technology and it has a 70.2% screen-to-body-ratio. However, the best thing about Nexus 5X’s display is the fact that it renders pictures and videos at full HD resolution (1080 x 1920). Last but not least, the display is coated in Corning Gorilla Glass 3 and Oleophobic coating which improve Nexus 5X’s scratch and crack resistance.
Leaving the display department aside, let’s take a look under Nexus 5X’s hood and see what lies beneath. Nexus 5X is powered by Qualcomm’s hexa-core MSM8992 Snapdragon 808 chipset. The processor features 4 cores which clock at 1.4GHz Cortex-A53 and other two cores that clock at 1.8GHz Cortex-A57. To make things even better, LG has paired Nexus 5X’s processor with an Adreno 418 graphics processing unit and 2GB of RAM. Also, worth mentioning is that Nexus 5X can be purchased in the 16GB and 32GB internal storage variants.
