HTC Desire 500 announced, equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 CPU
Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC is quite focused on its new line-up of smartphones, and the latest addition to them is the HTC Desire 500. At the moment the device has only been announced for the Taiwanese market but is expected to arrive in other regions in the near future.
The HTC Desire 500 looks like a mid-ranged Android based smartphone, as it is equipped with the decent hardware. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor which is clocked at 1.2GHz, it has 1GB of RAM and includes 4GB of built-in storage capacity with an additional 32GB as expandable storage via a microSD card.
The Desire 500 sports a 4.3-inch display with a resolution of 800×480 pixels and it supports NFC connectivity. It also has an 8 megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 1.6 megapixel front facing camera. The smartphone also includes a dedicated Image Sense chip and Beats Audio integration.
Unlike the HTC One and the HTC One Mini this smartphone is made up of plastic and it is just 9.9mm thick. It is equipped with a 1,800 mAh battery and it comes pre-loaded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean which is skinned with Sense 5 UI.
