Google Pixel XL vs Samsung Galaxy S8 – Should Android Fans Remain Loyal?
Deciding which smartphone to buy has become quite a difficult task these days. The smartphone market is filled with great devices and choosing the right one is not easy. Samsung’s latest Galaxy S8 flagship is the best-selling smartphone right and it’s so good that it actually made iOS fans switch sides. The question that remains is if loyal Android fans should also purchase Samsung’s Galaxy S8 and leave Pixel XL behind? If this question is bugging your mind, then you’ve came to the right place since we’re going to compare these two great smartphones today.
Obviously, Galaxy S8 has the upper hand in this category because it features a sleek looking edge-to-edge Infinity display. Samsung’s 5.8-inch Super AMOLED display offers a high pixel resolution of 1440 x 2960 and a pixel density of 570 ppi. However, this doesn’t mean that we should cross Pixel XL out since it ships with a rather large 5.7-inch AMOLED display which offers a similar pixel resolution of 1440 x 2560 and a pixel density of 534 ppi.
Samsung is known throughout the world for putting a high price on hardware power and this is why Galaxy S8 is equipped with Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 835 chipset that’s been coupled with an Adreno 540 graphics processing unit and 4GB of RAM.
On the other hand, we have Pixel XL that’s being fueled by Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 821 processor. In addition, Pixel XL’s processor is paired with an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit and the same amount of RAM as Galaxy S8.
Even though we’ve only went over the display and hardware power departments, it’s pretty clear that Samsung’s flagship has the upper hand in this brief comparison. However, worth mentioning is that Pixel XL doesn’t fall short and it offers more than enough hardware power to keep Android fans loyal.
