The rumors as in most cases were indeed true. Google had been cooking up its own social networking service and not long ago did the guys finally launch it. We did not do the story then, but I have been using the platform since a few days and would soon post a much detailed story on the same.
So, this social network from the search engine giant is known as Google+ or Google Plus, and it is obvious that it is going to be a tough competitor mainly to Facebook which is currently dominant in this business. According to Google, Google+ will not just be limited to sharing videos, photos, comments, etc. but would bring ‘real-world interactions’ and ‘real-life sharing’, which we are yet to see how it works out.

Some of the important things the platform focuses on is how you interact with a certain set of people and gives users a much wider control of the same. It also integrates with Google search results and includes a service which allows users to enter a group chat with certain people and they can also do the same with a group video chat. We have highlighted the key features below.
Circles
This is one the most interesting feature, it lets users organize friends according to their importance simply by dragging them into the appropriate circle. Users can then specify a certain update to the desired circle/circles.
Hangout
It is a group video chat service and can have multiple video feeds viewable at the same time. Once a user creates a Hangout it is published on his stream and others can then follow and join in.
Huddle
This is a group texting feature introduced without he platform and can also be used via its Android application. You can keep this specific to your desired circles.
Sparks
This basically feels like a recommendation engine which the company has introduced with its social network, we bet this will heavily integrate some Google search features along without the use of the Google +1 button.
Apparently, as every new Google product, the company was sending out invites to many people and now they have stopped the first wave of invites. So far, it has a lot of potential but we are yet to see where it heads.
Well, we have more on Google+ for you, so keep visiting.
