Apple Announces World’s First Thunderbolt Display

So, Apple announced the new MacBook Air, the new Mac mini and the latest OS X Lion, but along with it, the Cupertino based company also launched a new display which was recently spotted. It is the new Apple Thunderbolt Display, the world’s first display with Thunderbolt I/O technology which Apple also tags as the ‘ultimate docking station for your Mac notebook’.

This is a 27-inch display and users will be able to connect any Thunderbolt enabled Mac device to the new Apple Thunderbolt Display. It has a sleek design made up of aluminum and glass enclosure. Users will be able to access its FaceTime camera and high quality audio.In regards to connectivity, you can use Gigabit Ethernet, FireWire 800 and USB 2.0 ports, apart from the Thunderbolt port.

It has a 16:9 ratio with an edge-to-edge glass design and it uses IPS technology to provide an impressive 178 degree wide viewing angle. It also includes a built-in FaceTime HD camera, 2.1 speaker system, integrated MagSafe charger, one Thunderbolt port, one FireWire 800 port, three USB 2.0 ports, one Gigabit Ethernet port. It can chain up to five additional Thunderbolt displays.

The Apple Thunderbolt Display will be available within the next 60 days via Apple Store and Apple Authorized Resellers. It is priced at 56,900 INR including VAT and yeah, don’t buy it if your Mac does not have a Thunderbolt I/O port, or buy one which has a Thunderbolt I/O port if you want to use this.
