Polaris Slingshot: Explaining the Concept as Release Date Nears
What happens when a four-wheeled car mates with a bike? Polaris Slingshot comes to life. An American company, Polaris Industries, has produced a 3 wheeled car called the Polaris Slingshot.
This might be the first 3-wheeled car you have ever seen or heard of, believe me, Polaris Slingshot has much to offer. It is arguable that Polaris Slingshot is a fancy that ordinary citizens would never throw money it.
That may be true, but you never know the potential of a product that is the first of its kind. All specs of Polaris Slingshot are not known as the car has yet to be revealed on 27th July 2014.
Polaris Slingshot – a different kind of Batmobile
The Slingshot is 3-wheeled car with no doors and has only 2 seats ; it only serves two people and is door-less. Furthermore, Polaris Slingshot has a small windshield like that in bikes. One odd feature is that the Slingshot is incredibly low to the ground with only a small distance between the car seats and the road. This makes it only usable in countries where there are no large-size speed-bumps.
Moreover, according to rumors, Polaris will start selling the Slingshot from 2016 for less than $30,000, but then these are just rumors. However, according to “concrete” rumors, the Polaris Slingshot will run on a 2.4 liter Ecotec four-cylinder General Motors engine. The car will have a top speed of 210 km per hour and a 200-250 horsepower. Other standard features are power steering, traction control, ABS brakes and stability control.
In the above picture, the seats don’t look really comfortable indicating beforehand that the Polaris Slingshot will generally be liked my men. In one of the teaser videos released by Polaris Industries, the driver is seen wearing gloves while driving, further indicating that the Slingshot is considered to be more of a bike than a car.
The effect of this will be that laws and vehicle mechanisms that apply to cars will not be applied to the Polaris Slingshot. The Polaris Slingshot is an eye-catching bike/car; let’s hope that its performance is interest-catching.
