Mortal Kombat X Release Bits: Check Trailer and New Characters

“Mortal Kombat” creator Ed Boon had some great news for all fans at this year’s EVO. Last weekend at Evo 2014, Ed Broon has revealed that the new Mortal Kombat game will be released in 2015.

Evo 2014 is the biggest annual fighting game tournament, and it is definitely the best place to reveal the new Mortal Kombat release. Before that, Boon got a couple of words for his followers on twitter: “Been working lat3 recently … on som3thing to show at an upcoming event. #KrypticAntics.” Fans of the game wondered the use of “3” in his tweets.

Broon had an interview with Mad Catz, where he revealed some additional information about the game release in 2015. He also stated that there is the possibility of guest characters appearing in “Mortal Kombat X” as DLC.

He said: “That [guest characters] was something that was embraced in Injustice [Gods Among Us] and in Mortal Kombat,” noting that Freddy Krueger and Scorpion were the most popular characters in previous Mortal Kombat and Gods Among Us games.

He then continued:

“I think there’s a novelty to having a downloaded [sic] guest character, so, I think the chances are pretty high. I don’t think every single one of them [new characters yet to be announced] will be a guest, but I think the chances of at least one of them will be pretty good.”

According to NetherlandRealm Studios games, there is also a possibility that Katos from God of War will also join the game.

Before all of that, there are already some new characters that have been revealed. These characters are Kotal Kahn, D’Vorah, Cassie Cage, Ferrah and Torr. Additionally, another popular Mortal Kombat character was confirmed to join the squad. That character is Raiden.

Mortal Kombat will be released somewhere in 2015. And it will be available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3 and PC.
