Windows 8.1 Update 2 to Get Released THIS AUGUST?
We can’t say that Windows 8.1 is being loved by millions of users, since many are having difficulties accept Windows 8 and its new features. But there are plenty who have embraced the new change.
The latest Windows 8.1 Update 1 has been released a while ago and it brought plenty of useful features especially for those using the operating system on desktop machines.
Some recent hearsay coming from Microsoft pundit Mary Jo Foley suggests that Windows 8.1 Update 2 RTM will be ready in-time for one of Microsoft’s Patch Tuesdays this August. But some voices have been saying that Windows 8.1 Update 2 won’t be that important and that it will be silently rolled out.
And there are chances that Microsoft will push the update without an announcement because Update 2 will include mostly internal optimizations that won’t be that “consumer-friendly”. However, geeks and IT experts will be curious to see as to what’s new. Here’s what Foley added:
“Before Threshold is released next spring, Microsoft is expected to deliver a public preview of the Threshold release, most likely in the fall of 2014, my sources say. And before that, Microsoft will deliver a second and final update for Windows 8.1.”
She then added some interesting details about the Start Menu:
“Since Microsoft officials decided earlier this year to make the Mini Start Menu part of Threshold instead of Update 2, there’s not a whole lot of new features of note coming in Update 2. There may be some UI adjustments and tweaks, but nothing hugely noticeable, my sources claim. ”
There aren’t so many days until August, so if by any chances Windows 8.1 Update 2 pops up prior to that, we’ll be here to report with new intel on this.
