For those of who don’t know about the franchise, Sacred is a Diablo-like series which was originally developed by Ascaron. Ascaron shut down in 2009 due to bankruptcy, and developer Deep Silver bought the remaining rights.

The title will be coming to the PC, Playstation 3 and Xbox 360, with no current plans for a next-gen release. A side-scrolling action brawler called Sacred Citadel acted as a prequel to the Sacred 3 story and released in 2013 on Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network and Steam.

In addition to revealing the new release date, the publisher said the playable Malakhim character will be available as a pre-order bonus. And for those who pre-order the game from GameSpot, they’ll receive that will receive that character as well as an extra mission pack and exclusive weapon spirit.

IGN had the following to say in it’s preview of the title:

“Sacred 3 looks to do what its predecessors couldn’t: put itself on par with the modern standard of its genre. So far, there’s little evidence it’s doing anything to advance beyond that, but at first glance, this is an impressive 3D action RPG with combat and characters you can get behind.

“It’s a role-playing game where you have an actual role to play, and because it empowers players by making them think about how they work together, it becomes a strong co-op game instead of a strong game with co-op.”

Be sure to pre-order the game from your retailer provided you’re interested in the bonuses. Check out the gameplay video of the title below, and let us know what you think of it in the comments section right under this.
