India to Become The Biggest Smartphone Market
Like we’ve told you in a previous article, the Motorola Moto Z2 Play has made its way to India. At the same time, we previously talked about WhatsApp having 1.2 billion monthly active users and 200 million of them being from India.
It seems that India is doing very well when it comes to smartphones and there are more and more citizens from the mentioned country who own a device like this. The big amount of active users from India who use WhatsApp frequently is clearly showing that this is where most companies will focus on releasing low-range and mid-range smartphones.
According to reports, India will actually overtake the US in the smartphone market, becoming the second biggest smartphone market in the world. We think that more companies that manufacture smartphones will decide to bring their devices to this country. We can say that the economy in India is not that good, but that won’t stop anyone from purchasing a low/mid-range smartphone to use it in order to keep in touch with their friends and families.
There are reports saying that there will be more than 127 million smartphones shipped to India in 2017, which is more than how many will be shipped to Indonesia, Brazil and Japan combined.
It seems that India has an expanding market and the local network infrastructure has been improved with the speed of light in the last few years. This is also one of the reasons why smartphones are now becoming so popular, as there are more and more people who want to use the internet from their devices.
We think that it is just a matter of time until big companies will truly focus on bringing their devices to India. We remind you that before some of the high-end smartphones were not available in this country, but it seems that this has already changed.
