Asus Flaunts Its Ultra Thin MacBook Air Competing UX21 Laptop[Computex 2011]
Not content with stealing the limelight with the launch of its phone-in-a-tablet device at Computex 2011, ASUS has done it again, this with in the laptop arena. It showcased its ultra thin laptop UX21, which is powered by, wait for it, the new generation Intel chips, up to the i7!
The entire body is built from an aluminum alloy, thus making it weigh only 1.1 kg, and is 17 mm at its thickest. The keyboard keys are metal too! It also has SSDs, for faster boot times, and come with USB 3.0 connectivity.
There’s no doubt in our minds that this baby/beast is a direct competitor to the MacBook Air. And with its overawing specs, it could easily beat the Air at its own game. Unfortunately, it releases only in September, by which time the Air would have advanced and all companies would have to catch up with Apple again. Hmm, sounds like a familiar pattern!
