Acer Iconia W3 is the first 8-inch Windows 8 based tablet
Acer has announced the very first 8-inch Windows 8 tablet and Computex 2013. This device is called the Acer Iconia W3. The same tablet was earlier spotted with online retailer Amazon.
The Acer Iconia W3 sports an 8.1-inch LCD display with a 1280×800 pixels resolution. It weighs around 500 grams and it is 11mm thick. The tablet runs Windows 8 and it is powered by Intel’s Atom Z2760 Clover Trail chipset. It will come in two size variants of 32GB and 64GB, while both will feature expandable storage up to 32GB via a microSD card.
It also sports a 2 megapixel camera on the front along with another one on the rear, it includes micro HDMI and micro USB ports. Acer has equipped the device with an optional full-sized keyboard which enables users to use the tablet as a notebook.
It comes pre-installed with Microsoft Office and users will be able to use this right from the first boot up. The device is officially priced at $379 (approx. Rs. 21,440) and the pre-orders have already started in the US from June 4.
