Intel officially launches its fourth generation Haswell core processors in India
Intel has launched its fourth generation core processors in India, the fourth generation core processors are codenamed Haswell. Also, it is the first system on chip for PCs and it will enable 2-in-1 design form factors. Further, the Haswell core processors are well known for improved battery life and graphics performance.
The new chipset is built on Intel’s 22 nanometer microarchitecture, Intel further claims that it will provide up to 50 percent improved battery life when compared to the previous generation processor. You can expect this to be used in various form factors and especially in Ultrabooks which can now deliver up to 9 hours of battery life. The new 13-inch MacBook Air which is powered by the same processor delivers up to 12 hours of battery life.
Intel has also managed to reduce the power requirement for the chipset down to 6-watts, and the company has worked on a lot of other power-consumption based optimizations. According to Intel, computers powered by Haswell processors will run two times faster, will wake up eight times faster and users can edit and share HD videos twenty times faster when compared to a four year old computer.
Haswell processors will be great in terms of integrated graphics as Intel has introduced its new Iris graphics stack. The company claims to have doubled the performance of the current generation integrated graphics on Intel processors.
