Crytek announces new four-player action game called Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age
Soon after revealing Homefront: The Revolution, Crytek has now announced its new IP called Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age.
Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age is a third-person co-op action game where up to four players need to “fend off an onslaught of bloodthirsty creatures and track down breathtaking bosses”. This title will be developed by Crytek USA, a studio which includes employees from Vigil Games, the maker of Darksiders.
Crytek has not confirmed this, but Hunt could be a free-to-play game as the developer categorizes it under ‘games as a service’ and the beta will take place through GFACE, which according to Crytek is an “online platform for playing free-to-play, high quality games in a social environment”.
“In Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age, players will be counting their bullets and crying out for help as they delve deeper into the shadowy world we’ve created. From the outset of the development process, we’ve poured our imaginations into the game so that everyone who plays Hunt will discover a challenging experience that feels fresh, captivating and rich in possibilities,” says Crytek USA CEO David Adams.
Hunt will also come with a content generation system, ensuring ensure that players to never encounter the same environment or set of enemies twice. Hunt: Horrors of the Gilded Age will enter closed beta for PC later this year, and it is expected to hit PC and consoles next year.
