Sony unveils its 7.7mm thin Xperia T3 smartphone

Sony has officially announced its new mid-ranged Android smartphone in the Xperia T series, and this device is called the Xperia T3 which will be available globally by the end of July.

The Sony Xperia T3 sports a stainless steel frame around the sides which a new thing for mid-ranges smartphones from Sony, as the normally come with matte plastic at the sides.

This smartphone is just 7.7mm thick and it also supports 4G, but at the moment we cannot confirm whether it will support the LTE network in India. One can expect this smartphone to be priced between Rs 25,000 – Rs 30,000 when it to the Indian sub-continent.

In terms of the specifications, the Xperia T3 sports a 5.3-inch 720 resolution Triluminos display powered by the BRAVIA 2 engine and it has a pixel density of 277ppi. It will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor which is clocked at 1.4GHz and coupled with 1GB of RAM.

The smartphone will come pre-loaded with Android 4.4 Kit Kat and it sports an 8 megapixel rear camera with a Sony Exmor RS sensor and LED flash. This camera will come with usual features like HDR more, scene detection, face recognition, red-eye reduction, Panorama mode, Burst mode, etc. On the front the smartphone will sport a 1.1 megapixel camera capturing various kinds of selfies.


The Sony Xperia T3 comes with 8GB of built-in storage which can be expanded using a microSD card up to 32GB in size. It also supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, GPRS/EDGE, DLNA, NFC, 3G and 4G LTE connectivity options. The smartphone has a 2,500 mAh battery which is rated to provide up to 13 hours of talk time and up to 688 hours of standby time.
