Samsung Z is the much-awaited Tizen-powered smartphone, will be up for grabs later this year
It has been in the making for a long time, we knew about Samsung working on this device, but we mostly had speculation and rumors to support it. Now, Samsung has finally unveiled its very first Tizen-powered smartphone which is called – Samsung Z.
In terms of the specifications, the Samsung Z sports a 4.8-inch Super AMOLED display and it is powered by a 2.3GHz quad-core processor. It also boasts a fingerprint scanner, and 2D and 3D graphics, which result is an improved web browsing and user interface experience.
Samsung says that Tizen users will get faster boot times, much efficient multitasking capabilities and an Ultra Power Saving Mode, a battery mode which shuts down all but the very minimal functions of the device.
The smartphone will come with an 8 megapixel rear camera and a secondary front facing 2.1 megapixel camera. It will be powered by a 2,600 mAh battery.
The company has also announced that this smartphone will first go on sale in Russia in Q3 2014, and will soon be followed in other markets. At the moment there is no information about the pricing for this device.
