Steam comes to Linux

We all know about the Steam gaming client for the Mac CSX Phonorix. It has now uncovered a number of Linux binaries which are currently being actively developed. At first the Linux binaries didn’t successfully run, but user Kame on Phonorix managed to get the first Steam client window to appear.

Phonorix is been suggesting that Linux Steam client with Source Engine support is coming since the last two years and even though the Linux binaries are not very good to play games on, they prove that Steam will run on Linux.

Phonorix has also uploaded one more screenshot which shows the Steam client log0in windows and it is successfully running on Linux. It would also work great with Linux hosting, provided it is reliable and secure.
