Samsung brings the Galaxy Tab 2 310 to India

Samsung has officially launched the new Galaxy Tab 2 310 tablet in the Indian market which was available for pre-order just a few days ago. The device is officially priced at Rs. 23,250 however online retailers are selling it at a much cheaper price.

The while-colored Galaxy Tab 2 310 is available with Infibeam for Rs. 20,990 while online retailer Saholic is selling it at an even cheaper price of just Rs. 19,499.

Galaxy Tab 2 310 is an Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich based tablet device which is powered by a 1GHz dual-core processor and sports a 7-inch PLS display with a 1024×600 pixels resolution. The device also includes 16GB of built-in storage, microSD card slot, 1GB of RAM and a 4,000 mAh battery.

The camera on the device is not very powerful, it has a 3 megapixel rear camera and there is a secondary VGA quality front facing camera for video calling.

The 8GB and the 32GB variants may not launch in the Indian market as Samsung has mentioned in the press release that only the 16GB variant is available and even online retailers are shipping the same device. The company has partnered with Tata DoCoMo to provide 3GB of free data for the first 3 months.

With the Galaxy Tab 2 310, Samsung has pre-loaded a bunch of content which can be accessed via their own applications. Users will have access to over 500 movies and over 2500 music videos via the My Movies app. They can also access over 2 million e-books, 3,500 Magazines and over 2,000 newspapers from around the globe in 51 different languages, all of these can be found in the Readers Hub application.
