Idea Cellular which is apparently the third largest mobile operator in India, announced its report on its 3G subscriber base after the launch. The guys have announced that they were able to hit a mark of one million 3G subscribers within the first month of its launch. Well, that is quit e a huge number and I wonder what number other operators have achieved.

The operator imitated its 3G services with 9 cities in the end of March 2011 and now it now covers over 400 towns across India. The company is focusing on launching the services in 10 new towns every day for the next 365 days hoping it covers the entire country. Honestly, we are still figuring out the math behind it. They are planning to cover 750 towns by mid-2011 and plan to extend it further to 4,000 towns by the end of Q1 2012.
Until now which Idea covers the following regions including the first three circles it launched in, it consist of – Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Himachal Pradesh, UP East, UP West, Maharashtra and Goa, Kerala, Haryana and Andhra Pradesh.
If you guys are one of these 1 million Idea 3G subscribers, let us know how good (or bad) it is.
