HTC Desire 830 – Mid-Range Phablet With BoomSound Speakers
Fans of the Desire 820, which was released in 2014 with a plastic body and a dual tone design, will be able to replace this device with its successor. The HTC Desire 830 was just announced and soon, it will be available on the Taiwanese market. One of the features that will convince many people to buy this phablet are the BoomSound speakers, which will sit at the top and bottom of the 5.5-inch display with a Full HD resolution.
The HTC Desire 830 will go on sale on May 6 and will have a slightly different design than its predecessor, meaning that it will have a colored frame, instead of deep blue or red accents around the screen, but the camera ring and buttons have the same color as the frame. The new device measures 157.5 x 78.9 x 7.79 mm, but its weight hasn’t been specified. Its predecessor weighted 155 grams, but it was slightly taller, narrower and slimmer. The phone will be available in two variants of colors: blue and red, with a white rear panel.
Inside, it will house a MediaTek Helio X10 chipset that will be powered by a 1.5GHz octa-core processor backed by 3GB of RAM and will have an internal memory of 32GB, which will support expansion up to 128GB, using a microSD card. The previous Desire 820 was powered by a Qualcomm MSM8939 Snapdragon 615 octa core processor clocked at 1.5GHz, which was backed by 2GB of RAM and had half its internal memory.
On the back is located a 13MP camera with an f/2.0 aperture and OIS, while on the front is placed a 4MP Ultrapixel with an f/2.0 aperture. The front snapper replaced the 8MP camera from the Desire 820. The battery was slightly increased from 2600mAh to 2800mAh.
The price of the Desire 830 will be $310 (NT $9,990), but soon, the phone will be available worldwide.
