Choosing Between MacBook Pro and Surface Pro 5

Both of these devices are supposed to replace the computer. They are a bit far from this task (and they will always be) but they are useful in many ways and have similar features with the computer devices, which can really help us when we are not at home.

Appearances

The MacBook Pro was redesigned to a more modern look in 2016, wrapped in the typical silver aluminum body. When I say typical I don’t mean it in a bad way because clearly it’s a beautiful and elegant device.

The Keyboard

The MacBook Pro has the Apple’s new Butterfly Keyboard. It’s thin and the keys feel solid but with the microscopic amount of travel is not that easy to get used to.

Surface Pro, however, does not possess a keyboard. If you want one, you will have to purchase it separately. It’s called Surface Pro Signature Type Cover, it costs roughly $159.99 but for eligible students, faculty or staff at Universities and colleges there’s a discount and you can have it at $143.99. You can even use a bluetooth keyboard in order to receive the full laptop experience.

The MacBook Pro is simply great, including its subtle and distinguished design and the strong performance. The keyboard is a bit of a deal breaker plus those prices are still pretty high.

The Surface Pro’s design is good, touch works well and even has an additional Pen for those who like to draw. Personally, I find Microsoft’s Surface Pro more useful than the Apple’s MacBook Pro.
Of course, either one has their great features but you will still have to pay for it.

The Release

The MacBook Pro was released a year ago from now and is still available on the market.
The Surface Pro is now only available for pre-orders, arriving on 15th June 2017.
