Xiaomi launches 7.9-inch Android tablet called MiPad

Xiaomi has now unveiled its very first tablet which it calls MiPad. This is a 7.9-inch Android based tablet which is priced at $240 (Rs 14,200 approximately) for the 16GB variant and at $272 (Rs 16,100 approximately) for its 64GB variant.

The Xiaomi MiPad looks very similar to the Apple iPad Mini but comes in different colors options. It sports a 7.9-inch display with a pixel density of 326ppi and a 4:3 aspect ratio. It also has Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

Further this tablet is powered by a NVIDIA Tegra K1 processor with 192-core Kepler GPU clocked at 2.2GHz which is paired with 2GB of RAM.


 

The tablet has an 8 megapixel rear camera, a 5 megapixel front facing camera and is equipped with a 6,700 mAh non-removable battery. The company claims that the battery can provide up to 8 hours of music playback, 11 hours of video playback and 1,300 hours on standby mode.

The MiPad comes pre-installed with Android 4.4 Kit Kat which is skinned with the MIUI user interface.
