Sandy Bridge Powered Sony Vaio S Notebooks hit Indian Shores



Sony has officially launched the Vaio S range of ultraportable notebooks in the Indian market. A total of four variants have been announced and each touts a 13.3-inch display with a resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels. It is expected to provide a battery like of 7 hours while there is also an option to purchase an additional battery doubling the battery life, you do the math.

The Vaio S runs on the Intel Sandy Bridge Core-i7-2620M and the graphics are boosted with the help of the AMD Radeon HD 6630M GPU. It starts at Rs. 56,990 and goes all the way up to Rs. 1,09,900. Included on the notebooks is the Dynamic Hybrid Graphic System, which allows users to switch to ‘Speed Mode’ for improved performance and to ‘Stamina Mode’ to improve the battery life.

The display has an anti-reflective glossy finish which apparently provides high contrast visuals. It also features a backlit keyboard, aluminum wristpad and weighs just 1.7 KG. It series includes VPCSB19GG, VPCSB18GG, VPCSB17GG, VPCSB16FG which are priced at Rs. 1,09,900, Rs. 69,000, Rs. 62,990 and Rs. 56,990 respectively.
