Recently, the smartphone market has been flooded with devices from Samsung. The South Korean tech giant has made sure that it has a smartphone that fits each budget range, from affordable to expensive. While the entire tech community has been talking about Samsung’s Galaxy S8 launch, many didn’t notice that Galaxy C7 Pro came out. The latter is an affordable smartphone that’s especially been designed to cater towards mid-ranged budgets.

However, even though Galaxy C7 Pro benefits from Samsung’s brand recognition, it doesn’t mean that it will dominate its competition. For example, Samsung’s smartphone will be faced against Xiaomi Redmi 3S which is also a premium affordable smartphone. Nonetheless, today we’re going to pin the two against each other and see what they have to offer.

Display

Samsung’s smartphone ships with a large 5.7 inch Super AMOLED display. The panel offers a full HD pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920 and a pixel density of 386ppi. On the other hand we have Xiaomi Redmi 3S which has been equipped with a smaller 5.0 inch IPS LCD display. Redmi 3S’s panel features a smaller pixel resolution of 720 x 1280 and a pixel density of only 294.

Hardware Internals

Galaxy C7 Pro is powered by Qualcomm’s octa-core Snapdragon 625 CPU that has been clocked at 2.2GHz. In addition, Samsung has also paired the smartphone’s processor with an Adreno 506 GPU and 4GB of RAM. Redmi 3S is also fueled by a Qualcomm processor, but a different model. Redmi 3S uses the octa-core Snapdragon 430 CPU which clocks at a much slower speed of 1.4GHz. Also, Redmi 3S’s CPU has been coupled with an Adreno 505 GPU and 2GB of RAM.

Verdict

Even though we only went over the display and hardware departments, Galaxy C7 Pro is certainly the superior smartphone in this comparison. Samsung’s goal was to create an affordable smartphone that’s able to provide owners with impressive hardware performances, and Samsung did just that. We should also mention that Redmi 3S is not in any way a bad smartphone, it just isn’t up on par with Galaxy C7 Pro.
