Nokia 6 vs HTC U Ultra – Secondary Display or Affordable Price?

This year the smartphone industry has gotten more competitive than it has ever been. The reason we are saying this because all major smartphone manufacturers have decided to flood the market with great devices. In fact, even older brands such as Nokia have decided to make a comeback and reclaim their spots as being the world’s best tech companies

Today we will make a brief comparison between two great smartphones that have been recently revealed. The two candidates are HTC U Ultra and Nokia 6. Both of them have taken the market by storm and smartphone fans have been left in awe by their hardware specs. In addition, we should mention that this comparison is going to be based on display technology and hardware performance.

HTC U Ultra has been fitted with a sleek looking 5.7 inch Super LCD5 panel which offers a high pixel resolution of 1449 x 2569 and a pixel density of 513 ppi. The best thing about HTC U Ultra’s display and the feature that makes the smartphone unique is its secondary 160 x 1040 pixels 2.05 inch display.

On the other hand, Nokia 6 presents a 5.5 inch panel. The display uses IPS LCD technology and it gives a full HD (1080 x 1920) pixel resolution alongside a pixel density of 403 ppi. Unlike HTC U Ultra, Nokia 6 doesn’t feature a secondary display.

Now onto hardware power, HTC U Ultra has been equipped with Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 821 CPU that’s been clocked at 2.12GHz. The processor has also been coupled with an Adreno 530 graphics processing unit and 4GB RAM.

The fact that Nokia 6 has been designed specially to appeal towards mid-ranged budgets can be seen in its hardware sheet. With that being said, Nokia 6 is fueled by Qualcomm’s slower octa-core Snapdragon 430 which runs at a speed of 1.4GHz. The processor has also been paired with an Adreno 505 graphics processing unit and 3GB or 4GB RAM.

We think it’s pretty clear that HTC U Ultra is the superior smartphone here with its secondary display and more impressive hardware. However, considering that Nokia 6 is a budget smartphone, its performance is nothing to be overlooked.
