Nexus 6P Beta Enlisted Owners can Download Final Android 7.1.2 Nougat Build

One of the best things about owning a smartphone that’s being directly managed by Google is the fact that owners are allowed to enroll in the Android Beta Program. The reason why this is so important is because registered users are the first ones to get their hands on Google’s latest operating system updates. In fact, Nexus 6P owners who are registered in the Android Beta Program have just been given access to download the final build of Android 7.1.2 Nougat.

Android 7.1.2 Nougat

The official version of this software update has recently been rolled out to the wide public but now beta Nexus 6P owners are eligible to download it as well. The update comes under the “N2G47H” build number and it’s really small in size, weighing in at 25.4 MB. However, the update can only be downloaded by Nexus 6P owners who are already running a previous Android 7.1.2 Nougat beta build.

The update is being rolled over the air but this doesn’t mean that Nexus 6P owners can’t grab it themselves. The OTA images for the final build of Android 7.1.2 Nougat have been uploaded on the official Android Developers website and they can be manually sideloaded. However, the sideloading process is quite complicated and we advise beta enlisted Nexus 6P owners to just wait for it to arrive through over the air channels.

Other Devices

Right now, beta Nexus 6P owners are the only ones allowed to download it. There are still many Nexus 5X owners who are also enlisted in Google’s Android Beta Program and which have been left to wait. Google has yet to announce when the update will arrive to their smartphones but we can be sure that it’s going to happen soon enough.

Under the Hood Tweaks

Downloading the final build of Android 7.1.2 Nougat should be everyone’s top priority since it has been packed with under the hood tweaks. Many Nexus 6P owners are not even going to notice the large amount of fixes that Android 7.1.2 Nougat brings. For example, Nexus 6P’s Bluetooth connectivity is going to be significantly enhanced so that it doesn’t lose signal anymore.
