HTC U Ocean Leaked Photos Showcase Front and Rear Side

While every HTC fan is waiting for a brand new HTC 11 iteration, the Taiwanese seems to be actually adding the finishing touches to HTC U. The latter has been codenamed as “Ocean” and it is expected to arrive somewhere in 2017 instead of HTC 11. The reason we are talking about HTC U today is because the known and reliable smartphone leakster Evan Blass has recently leaked a picture which showcases HTC U’s front and back side.

HTC U Ocean

This is not the first time that pictures of HTC U are leaked on the internet, but these are the highest resolution ones. Evan Blass uploaded the leaked pictures on Twitter on the date of April 15th. As we can clearly see, the new smartphone doesn’t sport any extraordinary features. In fact, it’s very similar to the already unveiled U Ultra smartphone. However, there are some small differences such has the square camera module.

Secondary Display

Rumors were pointing out that HTC U will feature a secondary screen just like LG V20. From the looks of it, HTC has no intention of installing a secondary smartphone. However, what we can see is that HTC U presents a liquid metal design and a fingerprint scanner below the display panel.

Release Date

Even though pictures of the smartphone keep on leaking, HTC is not ready to unveil it yet. This means that we cannot know for sure when HTC U will be available for purchase. We should mention that the Evan Blass is claiming that the smartphone will arrive somewhere around May.

The smartphone is said to ship with a 5.7 inch Super LCD5 display panel which will feature a 69.7 percent screen to body ratio. The display will offer a high pixel resolution of 1440 x 2560 and a pixel density of 513 ppi. In addition, HTC will also coat the device’s panel in Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and Sapphire Crystal Glass on the premium model. In terms of hardware power, HTC U will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 821 CPU according to rumors. The processor will also be fitted with an Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM.
