HTC 10 vs. Apple iPhone 6S

The HTC 10 is expected to be released next month, while the iPhone 6s has been on the market since last fall, when it arrived alongside its phablet version and iOS 9. Today we’re going to compare these two smartphones, which have a similar design, and you will decide which one is perfect for your needs.

Designs

The HTC 10 measures 145.9×71.9x9mm and weights 161 grams, while the iPhone 6s is slimmer and lighter, as it measures only 138.3×67.1×7.1mm and has a total weight of 143 grams. Both devices have full metal bodies and two horizontal lines on their backs, for hiding the radio antennas, but while the iPhone 6S has more rounded edges, the HTC 10 has pronounced chamfers.

Displays

The HTC 10 has a super LCD5 display of 5.2-inch that supports a resolution of 2560×1440 pixels at 565 ppi and it’s protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. On the other hand, the iPhone 6s has a smaller IPS LCD display of 4.7-inch that supports a lower resolution of 1334×750 pixels at 326 ppi and it’s protected by a ion-strengthened glass.

Processors, Graphics Cards & RAM

The HTC 10 has a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 chipset, a quad-core processor formed from dual-core Kryo CPU clocked at 1.6GHz and a dual-core Kryo CPU clocked at 2.15GHz, an Adreno 530 graphics card and 4GB of RAM. The iPhone 6s comes with an Apple A9 chipset, a dual-core Twister CPU clocked at 1.84GHz, a PowerVR GT7600 (six-core graphics) graphics card and 2GB of RAM.

Storages

The HTC 10 comes in two internal storage variants of 32GB and 64GB, which you can expand up to 200GB thanks to a microSD card slot that it comes with. The iPhone 6s has been released in three internal storage variants of 16GB, 64GB and 128GB, but it doesn’t provide a card slot for storage expansion.

Cameras

The HTC 10 sports a primary camera of 12MP that features OIS, dual-LED flash, geo-tagging, touch focus, HDR, face detection, panorama and a secondary camera of 5MP. The iPhone 6s has a 12MP primary camera that offers phase detection autofocus, dual LED flash, HDR, panorama, face detection, touch focus and the secondary camera is 5MP.

HINT: Even if the cameras have the same number of pixels, their software is quite different.

Batteries

Both devices feature non-removable batteries, but the 3000 mAh one that the HTC 10 comes with is way more powerful than the 1715 mAh battery that powers the iPhone 6s.
