Google Pixel C Receives Android 7.1.2 Nougat Ahead of Everyone Else

Google Pixel C owners should be happy to know that the final build of Android 7.1.2 Nougat is coming their way. According to user reports, Google has started rolling out Android 7.1.2 Nougat exclusively to Pixel C. The Android parent has yet to announce why all of its Nexus and Pixel smartphones have been left waiting, but we can be sure that they will receive the software update during the upcoming days.

Android 7.1.2 Nougat

Android Beta Program enlisted users have already received two beta versions of Android 7.1.2 Nougat but Pixel C has received the final public edition. The update is being rolled out OTA (over the air) and it weighs in at 340.1MB. Therefore we advise Pixel C owners to keep their eyes peeled at their notifications panel in anticipation of the software update.

April Security Bulletin

Google puts a high price on security and that’s why it launches monthly security patches. According to Pixel C owners who have received Android 7.1.2 Nougat, the update also contains April’s security bulletin. This is quite surprising since Google doesn’t usually release these security patches when the month starts. Nonetheless, this is good news for Pixel C owners since their devices just got more secure.

Pixel Launcher

Navigation is now going to be so much simpler on Pixel C because Android 7.1.2 Nougat includes the new Pixel launcher. This feature replaces the “pill” shaped Pixel launcher with a better looking design. Pixel C’s multi tasking functions are going to be enhanced as well with the addition of the new multi tasking user interface which presents the last eight apps that were opened in a 2 x 4 grid panel.

Google Assistant

Many believed that Google is going to include its virtual assistant in this operating system but, sadly this didn’t happen. It doesn’t look like the Android parent wants to roll out its Assistant to Pixel C. In fact, Google doesn’t want to roll out its artificial intelligence assistant to any Android powered tablets. Nonetheless, Pixel C owners should be happy with the fact that they are the first ones to receive Android 7.1.2 Nougat ahead of everyone.
