Google Nexus 6P Hardware Malfunction Forces Firm Law to Take Action
It’s true that Nexus 6P is one of the most popular Android smartphones ever made, but this doesn’t mean its flawless. Recent user reports have been showing that Nexus 6P is affected by a major hardware malfunction which causes its battery to completely deplete. In fact, this issue has been causing controversy in the Nexus community since neither Huawei nor Google want to take responsibility for it.
As previously mentioned, the Chinese based tech manufacturer doesn’t see this issue as being hardware related. Therefore, Huawei is not willing to repair of fix any malfunctioning smartphones. The fact that Huawei is not taking care of this problem means that Nexus 6P owners are practically forced to repair their smartphones at their own expense. We should mention that Huawei believes that Google and its operating system is the one to blame for this issue.
Operating System Bug
Even though this issue first arrived alongside Android 7.0 Nougat, numerous XDA forum members have proven the otherwise. Tech savvy Nexus 6P owners have manually downgraded their operating system back to Android 6.0 Marshmallow and sadly, the problem didn’t go away. This leaves Huawei as the main suspect.
The US based law firm known as Chimicles & Tikellis LLP has announced that it’s looking to start a class-action lawsuit against both Google and Huawei. In addition, the law firm has opened its doors for every owner of a malfunctioning Nexus 6P device. We should also mention that Chimicles & Tikiellis LLP have also stated that LG will sued for the same reasons.
Everyone was hoping that Google will be able to fix this issue through a simple OTA (over the air) software patch. From the looks of it, Huawei will be required to step in and take matters into its own hands. Even though Huawei might not be willing to offer free repairs or refurbished smartphones, Chimicles & Tikellis LLP will make sure that Huawei doesn’t have another option.
