Google Nexus 6, 6P and 5X Available with Android O Update

According to Google’s statement, the Nougat 7.1.1 will be the last significant update to the OS that the Nexus 6 will still receive. However, it seems that there is a pleasant surprise in store for the users of this device. A recent Google Git leaked a particularly interesting bit of information. The document claimed that Nexus 6 will also receive the Android O as soon as the upcoming OS will be released. For now, we have no information about the official release date of the Android O.

Android O Availability

The official news about the Android claim that the new operating system will only be available for the Nexus 5X and 6P, together with the Pixel and Pixel XL devices, or at least in what concerns the Google products. However, according to the recent git, Nexus 6 will also earn its place on the list of devices that get the Android O.

Up until now, Google has been testing new Android OS versions on previous, older devices, with the purpose of determining the compatibility. Consequently, the document may merely be an indication of this action. As such, if you are one of the Nexus 6 owners, you shouldn’t be too excited about this prospect. If you don’t want to be disappointed in the future, then the best thing is to take everything with a grain of salt.

A Popular Smartphone

Truth be told, the Nexus 6 turned out to be quite a success. People all over the world appreciated its build, as well as the internal specs it offered. What proves this is the fact that many people came to the store to ask for replacement batteries for the device, since they still wanted to use it, but the battery eventually failed. All in all, everybody is curious to see whether this information is true or not, but we will still have to wait.
