I stumbled upon an interesting feature today in Facebook as I was browsing through my privacy settings. It looks like Facebook is slowly rolling out a feature which allows some kind of facial recognition technology to enable automatic tagging of photos, in the sense that it will suggest tags based on past photos, when new photos are uploaded. The setting is available through your privacy settings (obviously!), and you can have it disabled if you wish so.
Right now, this feature is not available to all, which means that it is likely that Facebook is first testing it out with a small subset and will slowly roll it out to everyone else, as it has always done with most of its new features. Methinks that this feature will certainly make the photo uploading process more efficient, though I highly suspect that at one point or another, it will send everyone scrambling to untag their embarrassing photos from the party last night!
