Facebook Home now available for Android users globally, but on select devices
After its debut on the Google Play Store last week, the new Facebook Home app is now available for Android users globally. This is a launcher app for Android users which puts Facebook first and while it is available globally it only runs on select smartphones.
Facebook has listed the devices which can run Facebook Home and these include – HTC One X, HTC One X+, Samsung Galaxy S III and the Samsung Galaxy Note II. Facebook has also mentioned that the upcoming HTC One and the Samsung Galaxy S 4 are also included on the list.
Apart the aforementioned devices HTC has launched the HTC First which is a smartphone which comes pre-loaded with the Facebook Home user interface. At the moment this smartphone has only been announced for the US market.
Facebook Home does not interfere with the operations of your Android smartphone neither does it access any of your private data on the phone. The app launcher mostly brings in Facebook-centric cosmetic changes which makes it easier for the user to stay connected to the social network.
