If you own a Google Nexus 5, then you might have already heard that Google is cutting it off from their Android support program. This comes as very sad news, especially seeing as how the Nexus 5 is perhaps Google’s best device the Mountain View giant has released so far. The Google Nexus 5 has many, many fans across the globe that have been disappointed with the company’s actions. However, there is still a ray of hope for all the Google Nexus 5 lovers out there. Custom ROMs to the Rescue

It’s no secret that the Nexus 5 was Google’s best device in the Nexus line. And let’s face it, the Pixel series is way too overpriced for what it offers. However, the news of Google ending OS support for its Nexus 5 devices came as a shock for many. Fortunately for all the Nexus 5 fans out there still holding on to their devices, a few custom ROMs appeared online to help them keep their phones working.

If you’re familiar with how custom ROMs work, you already know that the process is very much one of trial and error, and there are always risks that come with it. However, CM13.1 and CAF ROMs have proved to be the most stable for Google Nexus 5 devices, so you might want to give those a try. However, be careful when installing them and follow all the necessary steps in order to avoid ruining your Nexus 5 for good.
