Dell XPS 15 vs. MacBook Pro 15 – Size, Price and Specs Comparison
The rivalries between companies on the technology market are a really old story now. However, what is new is the way in which they keep fighting and the devices they throw into the battle. Now the most recent fight takes place between the Dell XPS 15 and the MacBook Pro 15. Truth is, there are lots of other competitors who offer similar specs, but these two are still going on with their rivalry.
What Ports Do They Offer
If you take a look at the new MacBook Pro 15, you will see that it offers 4 Thunderbolt 3 USB ports, plus a headphone jack. Many users are grateful to Apple for keeping the classic headphone jack. Meanwhile, the Dell XPS 15 sports 2 USB 3.0 Type A ports, a headset jack, one USB 3.1 Thunderbolt 3/Type C, a full-size HDMI 1.4 and a Kensington lock port.
Naturally, MacBook will stick to their traditional Butterfly keyboard they have been using for MacBooks. Dell also goes for a traditional keyboard that looks better than the one on the XPS 13, to be honest.
The two machines are actually quite similar when it comes to size. The MacBook Pro 15 is not as thin as everybody would want it to be, but overall it’s not such a big difference. The MacBook Pro weighs 3 pounds and 15.6 ounces, while the XPS 15 weighs 4 pounds and 8.7 ounces. If you also take into account the chargers, the Apple product reaches 4 pounds and 12 ounces, while the XPS 15 reaches 5 pounds and 7.4 ounces.
And we have reached perhaps the most important point: the price. The base model of the MacBook Pro 15 costs $2,399, in comparison with the Dell XPS 15, which costs $350 less.
