Apple has launched a unique buyback scheme for promoting the sales of iPhone 4 in India. The scheme offers you a discount of a minimum sum of Rs.7000 on exchanging any mobile phone with the purchase including Micromax, Lava and Karbonn.
The customer needs to fill a buyback form and make the remaining payment by card to avail the offer. The form is available across most of the retailers who stock iPhone 4. You can also choose to pay as per Apple’s EMI scheme along with this offer.
The sales of iPhone 4 have tripled in past 5 days throughout the country as per The Times of India. The phone is currently priced at Rs. 26,500 in India and costs around Rs. 20,000 if you avail the offer. The Apple iPhone 4 is hence judged to be competing with brands like Samsung Galaxy, Sony Xperia, Nokia Lumia and BlackBerry under the Rs 20,000 price cap.
On the other hand, Apple is also giving the traders Rs. 5,000 as a cash voucher and letting them resell the second hand phones in the market. After the offer was introduced, iPhone 4 has fallen into the category of top three selling mobile phones in the country as per The Economic Times.
India is one of the largest mobile-selling countries in the world making the biggest brands face a severe competition in Hindi-speaking land. Even Samsung is reported to give-back with its own Buyback scheme for high-end mobile phones, but there are no details yet.
Indian consumers are making the most of the steep pricing and severe competition in the country. The mobile phone sales are reported to have increased by a tremendous amount over the past 2 years.
