Amazon has been doing quite a lot Android stuff lately and for those who still guessing we are suggesting their two new products – the Amazon Appstore and the Cloud Player. It seems like the guys are not yet done. While previously we heard rumors about Amazon working on its own tablet device the guys also seem to be preparing an Android smartphone which according to the guys at Android Police is called the Blaze.

As usual the guys at Amazon have not yet confirmed this but the Android Police people have already got its specifications and it seems like a very good smartphone. Apparently, the Amazon Blaze will sport a 4.3-inch Mirasol display and will be equipped with a 1.2GHz dual-core Qualcomm MSM8600 processor. It also features 512MB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage, DLNA connectivity, MHL (Mobile High-Definition Link) port compatible with both microUSB and microHDMI. Bluetooth 2.1/3.0 and a 1700mAh Lithium Ion battery with a solar panel on the battery cover. It will also include a 5 megapixel rear camera and a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front. It is expected to have a NFC chip and will possibly be available with AT&T and later with Verizon.
It feels like Amazon has done a very good job with this smartphone and as you can see from the images, it has a great design and the guys have also done some customization to the generic Android UI. It has matte finish and the solar panel is visible on the rear side. The Mirasol display has not need of backlighting to display text or images and this makes it energy efficient. I also believe that the device will have great cloud synchronization as Amazon is doing pretty well in those services. It is expected come with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.
This sure seems like an interesting Android device which may stand out from the competition and may bring some uniqueness to the mobile operating system. It is expected to be announced in summer.

So, is there an Amazon tablet coming as well or was this Android device rumored in the past. Let us know what you think about this device, it has got us excited!
Update: This was all just an April Fool’s Joke!
