Archos announces four new Android based smartphones
Archos recently announced a total of four new Android smartphones which include the Archos Carbon 35, Titanium 4, Titanium 52 and the Archos Platinum 48. The numbers basically represent the screen sizes for these smartphones.
The Archos Carbon 35 is the most affordable from the lot and it sports a 3.5-inch display, it is powered by a single core 1GHz MediaTek processor, there is a 2 megapixel rear camera, a 0.3 megapixel front facing camera and it is equipped with a 1,500 mAh battery.
The Archos Titanium 4 sports a 4-inch IPS display, it is powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core MediaTek MTK 6577 processor, has a 5 megapixel rear camera, a 0.3 megapixel front facing camera and a 2,200 mah battery.
Next up is the Archos Titanium 52 which is a phablet from the company with a screen size of 5.2-inches. This is an IPS display with a resolution of 800×480 pixels. It is also powered by a 1.2GHz dual-core MTK 6577 processor, a 5 megapixel camera on the rear and a secondary front facing 0.3 megapixel camera with a 2,200 mAh battery.
Finally, the Archos Platinum 48 is the most well equipped smartphone amongst the four. It is powered by a quad-core MTK 6589 processor clocked at 1.2GHz. It includes 1GB of RAM, 8 megapixel rear camera, 0.3 megapixel front facing camera and a 2,000 mAh battery.
The former three handhelds will run Android 4.0 ICS out of the box while the Platinum 4.8 will release at a later date and come pre-loaded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. The pricing for these devices will start from $100 and they are expected to launch some time in June.
