Lava Iris 406Q is a quad-core powered smartphone, launched at Rs 7,499

Lava has officially launched a new budget smartphone in the Indian market and this comes soon after the Lava Iris 450 Colour was spotted online. This new smartphone from Lava is called the Iris 406Q and it is priced at Rs 7,499.

The Lava Iris 406Q was first silted for pre-order with online retailer Flipkart for Rs 6,999, but the official price turned out to be a little more than expected. The company says that the device pre-order are exclusive to Flipkart and that the Iris 406Q will be available through other retailers sometime next week.

The smartphone will come pre-loaded with Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, and the company has confirmed that the user will be able to update the device to Android 4.4 Kit Kat. It offers dual-SIM connectivity and sports a 4-inch WVGA resolution display.

The Iris 406Q smartphone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor while it also comes with an Adreno 302 GPU and 1GB of RAM. It has a 5 megapixel rear camera and a secondary front facing 0.3 megapixel camera.

Packed with a 1,700 mAh battery the device also includes 4GB of built-in storage which can be expanded using a microSD card up to 32GB in size. In terms of the connectivity it supports Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, GPRS/EDGE and 3G.
