ZTE Axon 7 Now Comes with Android 7.1.1 Nougat
Ever since Google finished rolling out Android 7.1.1 Nougat to its Nexus and Pixel smartphones, all other tech companies have been trying to do exactly the same. Surprisingly, the Chinese manufacturer known as ZTE is making the biggest progresses when it comes to software updates. The company’s flagship smartphone ZTE Axon 7 has been updated to Android 7.0 Nougat last month and now Android 7.1.1 Nougat is on its way.
ZTE Axon 7 Receives Android 7.1.1 Nougat
ZTE Axon 7 owners have been more than happy to receive Android 7.0 Nougat because it brings great features such as Daydream support and multi-window mode but Android 7.1.1 Nougat takes it to the next level. The Android parent is known for always packing its operating system updates with features and Android 7.1.1 Nougat isn’t an exception to that rule.
Android 7.1.1 Nougat Exclusive Features
First off, ZTE Axon 7 owners that use T-Mobile’s network should be happy to find out that they can place and receive Wi-Fi Calling. Even better, the smartphone will now receive Wi-Fi text-messages as well. This feature is really nice to have, especially since ZTE Axon 7 owners will not be required to use apps such as WhatsApp to get access to this type of features anymore.
Regarding text-messages, Google has enhanced the entire message composing experience by introducing a wide array of emojis. The most popular ones are certainly the “gender-equal” emojis. Additionally, Android 7.1.1 Nougat also gives users the ability to introduce gifs directly from their keyboards.
However even though all these fun features are nice to have, the best thing about this update is that it brings Google’s February security patch as well. Google sees security as a top priority and this why it keeps on rolling out monthly security bulletins. Also, now that March’s security patch is live we can be sure that ZTE Axon 7 will also receive it during the upcoming future.
How to Download Android 7.1.1 Nougat
The Android parent is rolling this update OTA (over the air), therefore ZTE Axon 7 owners should keep their eyes peeled at the notifications panel. If the update doesn’t arrive in a timely manner, ZTE Axon 7 owners can always download it themselves from the “System Update” panel that can be found in the Security menu.
