Windows 8 vs. Windows 10 – Which One To Choose?

Windows 8 vs. Windows 10

The Windows 10 OS has been available for quite a while and a good amount of Windows users (the ones that had a Windows 8 license key) have upgraded to this new OS for free. Today we’re going to compare the Windows 8 and Windows 10, and hopefully, you will decide if you want to stick to the old OS or update to Windows 10 for FREE.

Start Menu

Microsoft did a great job on bringing back the Start Menu, as this was one of the main reasons why a good amount of Windows 7 users decided to keep their current operating system instead of upgrading to Windows 8.

The Start Menu that comes on Windows 10 is an improved version of the Start Menu from the Windows 7 and it contains a list of frequently used applications, along with shortcuts to PC Settings and File Explorer.

In addition, the Start Menu is customizable, which means that you will be able to rearrange the tabs or resize them.

Universal Apps and Continuum

The Universal Apps and Continuum are two of the features that will make most of the Windows 8 users to upgrade. The Universal Apps will function the same way across any device that running this OS (PC, laptop, tablet or smartphone), but they will be adjusted to the screen size you’re using.

Continuum is quite similar, but a little different, as it will allow you to run a desktop-like PC experience from your Windows 10 Mobile OS via an USB cable. You will be able to do this via the Microsoft Display dock, which allows you to connect your phone to a keyboard, mouse and monitor. However, keep in mind that some of the applications will not run in Continuum.

Another awesome feature that Windows 10 comes with is Cortana, which is Microsoft’s voice digital assistant. Cortana will recognize your voice and it will continually learn about your behavior, contacts and so on. In addition, the voice digital assistant will improve itself with use, which is quite awesome.

Search Improvements

The Windows 10 comes with some improvements to the searching ability. You will notice that while looking for information in Windows 10, the searching function will not look only inside your computer, but also on the internet.

What are your thoughts about the Windows 10?
