Windows 10 Improvements to Movies and TV 3.6.1867
The latest update of Movies & TV was released a few days ago, it’s available for both mobile devices and PCs running on Windows 10, and comes with three important changes. At the beginning of March, Microsoft has released an update for desktop, which picked up subtitle options for personal videos.
The owners of a device running on Windows 10 have just received a new update for the Movies & TV application, which jumped to version 3.6.1867, and according to the change log, the media transport control layout has been improved and have been added “skip forward” and “skip back” buttons, you will see download time estimates for films and TV program downloads, and if until now, movies and TV programs couldn’t be deleted from the collection on any of your devices, this is finally possible and many users appreciate this.
Movies & TV comes preinstalled and can be uninstalled if you don’t use it on your Windows 10 device. However, the application can be downloaded from the Microsoft store, where you’ll find the latest version. All new features that have been added to the mobile version came after they’ve been tested on PCs, but the developers will continue to improve this entertainment application.
The universal application takes between 3.86 MB and 33.3 MB of storage and if you’re not notified about its availability, then you can go to Microsoft’s store and download it from there.
Earlier this month, Microsoft has released an update that included new options for loading external subtitles while playing a movie. The subtitle could be downloaded as a zip file, but you needed to extract it at a suitable location, but only SRT format was supported.
Then, the video was opened in the Films & TV app and you had to click the Speech bubble button next to the volume button and if the file had subtitles encoded, they appeared with the “Choose subtitle file” option displayed.
