Sony Ericsson Xperia Play Coming to India in April?

The guys over at AndroidOS.in have been unveiled that a “trusted source” has informed them that Sony Ericsson in planning to launch the highly anticipated and first ever PlayStation smartphone in the Indian market sometime in end of April or early May.

Many have called the Sony Ericsson Xperia Play as the device which would bring quality gaming to Android and that is exactly what I am looking for. It is powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and features the Adreno 205 GPU. Along with all this, it also features a dedicated gamepad for controls very similar to the PSP Go. It sports a 4-inch display and also has a 5 megapixel camera.

The Xperia Play is expected to be priced at about Rs. 34,000 in India and it would follow after the launch of the Xperia Arc and Xperia Neo which are expected to show up around early April, the latter two are already available for pre-order on Flipkart.

I bought this phone just recently at mnvcollections.com and it is like manna for a gamer like me. You can easily play for a hour without any discomfort and the best part is the battery life. I played for a straight hour and then took some calls and went online and still the battery lasted through it all.
The slider control pad is great too, though not quite the PSP which is Ok, because the thumbpads are just like the controller in a PSP. I totally love this phone.
