Samsung Galaxy S8 to be Launched Ahead of Time
Samsung was scheduled to launch its highly anticipated Galaxy S8 smartphone flagship during MWC, but for unknown reasons the South Korean tech giant changed its mind and postponed Galaxy S8’s launch date until March 29th. The reason we are talking about it today is because a recent report from Korea is saying that the smartphone is going to be available starting April 7th, which is way sooner than expected.
Samsung Galaxy S8 Available for Purchase Starting April 7th
At the moment, we can’t know for sure if this report intended to say that Galaxy S8 will see a worldwide launch on April 7th or only in South Korea. However, this shouldn’t surprise anyone since Korea is Samsung’s home country and that’s where its biggest fan base resides.
Additionally, Samsung has teamed up with three big Korean mobile carriers that will hold special events on April 7th. It looks like Samsung is going to wants the entire spotlight to fall on Galaxy S8 since the aforementioned events will reward customers with prizes. Also, it is highly believed that these three Galaxy S8 launch events will be filled with customer lines similar to Apple’s iPhone-style lines.
LG forces Samsung to launch its Flagship in Korea ahead of time
Rumor has it that LG is actually the one that’s forcing Samsung to launch its flagship in Korea ahead of the expected date. LG’s G6 flagship smartphone is highly popular in South Korea and Samsung feels threaten by this. This is why Samsung and its three carrier partners are making such a big deal of Galaxy S8’s launch.
Samsung Galaxy S8: Specs
The South Korean tech giant didn’t unveil the device’s official specs list but fortunately enough Galaxy S8’s entire hardware list has been leaked. The smartphone will ship with a 5.2 inch Super AMOLED panel. The display will feature a high pixel resolution of 1440 x 2960 pixels and large pixel density of 568 ppi. In terms of hardware power, Galaxy S8 will be fueled by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 835 chipset. The processor clocks at 2.45GHz and it is coupled with an Adreno 540 GPU and 4GB of RAM.
