Nexus 6P Receives Major Security Boost

Traditionally, Nexus 6P owners have been having problems with Google’s latest operating system and security updates. This is why Nexus 5X smartphones have received March’s security bulletin a couple of days before Nexus 6P devices. Fortunately, Google didn’t forget about Nexus 6P owners and finally upgraded their security as well.

Google Reinforces Nexus 6P’s Security

March is here and all the smartphones that are being directly managed by Google have received this month’s security patch including Nexus 6P. This update is highly important and Nexus 6P owners should try and download it as soon as possible.

The March security bulletin takes care of 60 security vulnerabilities including a major exploit. Even though Google puts a high price on security, one major threat managed to slip through the cracks. This exploit allowed hackers to remotely control Android powered smartphones through the use of platforms such as MMS, email and web browsing. On the bright side, there aren’t any reports to show that someone has been affected by this issue.

Nonetheless, we can be sure that Nexus and Pixel smartphone owners are happy to hear that Google has taken care of this issue. We should mention that Nexus 6P owners shouldn’t hesitate to download this security patch even though former patches have caused their smartphones to malfunction.

Every time Google released a new update, Nexus 6P owners were complaining that their smartphone’s hardware has been affected by it. For example, older operating system updates used to meddle with Nexus 6P’s battery and cause it to malfunction. Fortunately, March’s security update has been carefully optimized and it doesn’t cause any problems.

Nexus 6P owners should keep in mind that this update is being rolled out OTA (over the air). Therefore, they should keep their eyes peeled at their notifications panel because it’s going to pop-up any time now, if it didn’t already. Additionally, the update arrives under the “N4F26T” build number and it weighs in at 39MB. Even though its small in size, the major security boost it brings is highly important.
