Nexus 5X vs Nexus 6 – Which One Deserves your Money?

Google has created many smartphones along the years but two of them stand out the most. We are talking about Nexus 5X and Nexus 6. The Android parent has collaborated with LG and Motorola in order to create these smartphones and both of them represent the true pure Android experience.

Even though both of them are not new on the market, customers are still keen on acquiring them. There are two good reasons behind this. Both smartphones have been equipped with impressive specs and they feature Google’s latest operating system updates.

Even better, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P are quite cheap in comparison with the likes of Pixel and Nexus 6P. Nonetheless, today we’re going to pin the two against each other and see which one is the better purchase.


LG has equipped Nexus 5X with a 5.2 panel. The display uses IPS LCD technology and it offers a full HD pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920. The Motorola made Nexus 6 ships with a larger 5.96 panel that makes it fit into the phablet category. Unlike Nexus 5X, this display uses AMOLED technology and it offers a higher pixel resolution of 1440 x 2560.


Although the display department is important, hardware power is what matters the most. With that being said, let’s pop up Nexus 5X and Nexus 6’s hoods and see what we can find. First we have Nexus 5X that’s powered by Qualcomm’s hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset which is coupled with 2GB of RAM. On the other hand, Nexus 6 is fueled by Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 805 processor that’s been paired with 3GB of RAM.


The differences between these two devices are pretty obvious. Even though Nexus 5X was launched one year ahead of Nexus 6, the latter’s hardware specs are actually more impressive. The larger display and bigger pixel resolution provides users with impressive video quality representations.

Nexus 6’s hardware power shouldn’t be overlook at all since its processor is quite impressive clocking in at 2.7GHz Krait 450. Obviously, we have to give it to Nexus 6 in this brief hardware comparison.
