Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P vs Pixel and Pixel XL – the Best that Google has to Offer

Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P used to represent the best that Google had to offer. This ended when Pixel and Pixel XL were introduced last year. The two Nexus smartphones managed to generate huge amounts of profits to Google since they were known for offering a “pure” Android experience. On the other hand, Pixel and Pixel XL are considered as being Google’s vision of perfect Android powered devices.

Today we’re going to pin the four against each other and see how well did Google’s smartphones advance from year to year. In addition, avid Android fans will know if they should upgrade their Nexus smartphone to one of Google’s latest Pixel.

Display

Nexus 5 has been fitted a 5.2 IPS LCD display that offers a full HD pixel resolution of 1080 x 1920. Nexus 6P ships with a larger 5.7 AMOLED panel that features a higher pixel resolution of 1440 x 2560. The difference between these two smartphones is pretty obvious, but now let’s sees how Pixel and Pixel XL present themselves.

The entry-level Pixel smartphone comes with a slightly smaller 5.0 inch AMOLED panel that features a full HD resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels. The larger model has been equipped with a 5.5 inch AMOLED panel that impresses with its 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution.

Hardware Power

The LG-made Nexus 5 is powered by Qualcomm’s hexa-core Snapdragon 808 chipset that’s been coupled with an Adreno 418 GPU and 2GB of RAM. Huawei has equipped Nexus 6P with a faster Qualcomm octa-core Snapdragon 810 which is paired with an Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB of RAM.

The two Pixel smartphones only differ in size and pixel resolution, their hardware specs are the same. Nonetheless, both devices are fueled by Qualcomm’s quad-core Snapdragon 821. The chipset clocks at 2.15GHz and it is fitted with an Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM.

Conclusion

We think it’s safe to say that Nexus 5X and 6P owners should feel compelled to upgrade their device. The two Pixel smartphones are something special. It looks like its true what they say about them, they are the perfect Android powered smartphones.
