Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P To Be Revamped

The Android parent received a lot of criticism last year when it decided to launch its “self-made” smartphones under a new brand name. Google’s Nexus brand name is renowned throughout the world for having some of the best Android powered smartphones ever made. Even though Pixel and Pixel XL are incredible smartphones, their brand name hinders them back. The Pixel name doesn’t have the same global recognition as the Nexus one. This is why Google is considering revamping the Nexus brand.

Why Google Chose The Pixel Brand

The reason is quite simple, Google wanted to establish its name as one of the biggest smartphone manufacturers in the world. Even though the Nexus brand is owned by Google, it is also associated with different hardware manufacturers such as Motorola, LG and Huawei. The reason why Pixel and Pixel XL are so special is the fact that they are the first ever pure Android smartphones. They represent Google’s vision of a perfect Android powered device.

Nexus vs Pixel: Popularity

The Pixel brand is quite new in comparison with the long established Nexus name. Additionally, there are only two smartphones that have been branded under the Pixel name. On the other hand, the market is filled with Nexus smartphones. What truly made the Nexus brand worldwide recognizable is because it brought devices such as Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P which are known as some of the best Android smartphones.

Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P Revamp

Even though Pixel and Pixel XL smartphones are bestsellers in the US, we cannot say the same thing about other regions of the world. This is where the renewal of Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P could come in. We think it’s safe to say that Google’s sales percentages will boom once again if it comes out with two brand new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P. Google could make the new Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P Europe and Asia exclusive so that they do not interfere with Pixel and Pixel XL’s success Nonetheless, everything we know about this matter is based on rumors so we can’t be sure of anything.
